Anne has expertise in consumer research; in exploring, understanding and modeling factors that influence consumer behavior. She investigates the relations of product attributes and consumer responses aiming to understand how consumers form perceptions of quality, value and buying intention of products. Her work at VTT has mainly focused on food products and consumer oriented food product development, especially relating to organic foods and foods with technologically improved health qualities. Understanding packaging is another interest area besides food. Furthermore, she has been involved in research on consumers’ views about food risks, attractive residential environment and ways to enhance household energy saving. Her expertise covers both qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as surveys, experimental designs (incl. con-joint), and attitude modeling, focus-group interviews, personal interviews and the so called laddering-technique. |
